As the rehabilitation progresses, the easy range of motion exercises progress to more difficult strength training exercises and proprioception (balance) exercises. The items listed below are some examples of the exercises.
Return to competition can be accomplished when the athlete can sufficiently perform the duties of the sport with little or no pain or swelling. The Athletic Trainer at the athlete's school is best equipped to evaluate, treat, and determine return to play criteria.
