Plyometrics are exercises designed to build muscular speed-strength. This is accomplished by applying the principles of PRE to an exercise that begins in a maximum stretch and results in a quick powerful contraction in one plane of motion. Plyometrics are only one component of the overall conditioning in one plane of motion. Plyometrics are only one component of the overall conditioning program, they must be included with proper nutrition, stretching, aerobic fitness, and strength training. The following are some suggested plyometric exercises.
